Grimaud occupies a privileged position on the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, combining the architectural character of a medieval hilltop village with direct access to one of the most sought-after coastlines in the Mediterranean. The old village, crowned by its 11th-century castle ruins, looks out over the Maures massif and the bay below. The commune extends down to Port Grimaud, the planned waterfront quarter designed by François Spoerry in the 1960s, which has become a landmark of the western Gulf.
