The Horse Barn , a classic 19th century home with
spectacular views of the Hudson River, where owners just completed a major
renovation. Located in the heart of Grandview, across from the Hudson, the home
is situated between Piermont and Nyack, and features extraordinary sunrises
every morning. There’s also a 5 + mile nature trail (old Erie RR trail)
adjoining the property on its western border.  Renovations include two new
baths, renovated kitchen, new flooring, overall extensive renovations &
paintings inside & out, and a new roof.  In addition to a large lawn
and rear patio, there’s a regulation sized hartru tennis court with night

Architectural details include late 19th century style
moldings, panel doors and floors, 3 wood burning fireplaces, and even a
greenhouse off the kitchen. It also offers 2 sun porches/rooms and 2 outdoor
porches. Walkout lower-level features massive sandstone walls with tall
ceilings and a recreation room with bath. Its lower level is above grade and
features an extraordinary sandstone foundation with huge sandstone blocks and
flooring with tall ceilings.

The first structure was built about 1830 by a man named Cox,
as a horse barn.  About 1850 it operated as a hat factory, and after that
went back to a barn for horses.  In 1891 a lithographer named Mr Wagner bought
it from A. Baxter and converted it to a residence.  Through the years and
various owners,  the actor David Niven lived there in the 1960s and it was
known for the big parties he would throw.  Corolla Dost bought the
property about 1990, and operated a Bed and Breakfast in the property for over
20 years.  Accordingly, a huge bronze statue of a horse once graced the
front lawn.

Transportation to NYC is close by, with the Tarrytown train
to Grand Central, only 12 min. away, and the bus to NYC can be hailed right in
front of the property.
