Gordes occupies a dramatic position on the northern edge of the Luberon massif, its medieval stone houses rising in tiers above the Imergue valley. Gordes sits approximately 35 kilometres east of Avignon, reachable by car in around 45 minutes. Avignon TGV station connects to Paris Gare de Lyon in roughly 2 hours 40 minutes by high-speed rail. Marseille Provence Airport is approximately 80 kilometres south, around one hour by car, and serves a wide range of European and international routes. Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is approximately 160 kilometres to the east, around two hours by car.
