Gassin is a medieval hilltop village in the Var department, consistently ranked among the most beautiful villages in France. Perched above the Gulf of Saint-Tropez at roughly 200 metres elevation, it offers panoramic views across the peninsula and out to the Îles d’Hyères. The village retains its original Provençal character, with narrow stone lanes, a Romanesque church, and a scale that has changed little over centuries. Its position places it within the prestigious Saint-Tropez peninsula without the congestion of the town itself.

Saint-Tropez is a 10-minute drive, giving access to the Place des Lices market, the restaurants along the port, and the beaches of Pampelonne. The Golf de Gassin, one of the most respected courses on the Côte d’Azur, is immediately adjacent. The village itself has a small selection of restaurants and a weekly market.

The nearest major transport hub is Toulon-Hyères Airport, approximately 60 kilometres away, with a drive of around one hour depending on seasonal traffic. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is roughly 100 kilometres to the east, typically 90 minutes by car. The nearest train station is at Saint-Raphaël, around 35 kilometres away, with TGV connections to Paris in approximately four hours. Helicopter transfers from Nice to Saint-Tropez are widely used during peak season.
