Gassin is one of the most elevated and best-preserved medieval hilltop villages in the Var, sitting above the Gulf of Saint-Tropez at roughly 200 metres. Its classified historic centre, with narrow stone lanes and panoramic terraces overlooking the Maures massif and the bay below, gives it a character that is markedly quieter and more residential than Saint-Tropez itself, while remaining within the same privileged coastal geography. The village consistently ranks among the most beautiful in France.

Saint-Tropez is a ten-minute drive, with its market on Place des Lices running Tuesday and Saturday mornings. The beaches of Pampelonne, including Club 55 and Nikki Beach, are roughly fifteen minutes by car. Ramatuelle village is five minutes away. Gassin itself has a small selection of restaurants on its central square.
