Cercedilla, situated in the Sierra de Guadarrama within the Community of Madrid, Spain, lies approximately 57 kilometers northwest of the capital city. Part of the Sierra de Guadarrama Natural Park, a protected area located in the Community of Madrid and the province of Segovia, this space covers more than 33,000 hectares and was designated a Natural Park in 2013.

Renowned for its ecological importance and scenic beauty, the Sierra de Guadarrama hosts a rich diversity of flora and fauna, including forests of Scots pine, Pyrenean oak, and holm oak on its peaks. It is also home to a wide variety of animal species such as the golden eagle, griffon vulture, Iberian wolf, and deer.
