Cannes occupies a singular position on the French Riviera, a city whose international reputation is built on more than its famous film festival. The Croisette remains one of the most recognisable seafront promenades in the world, flanked by grand palace hotels and facing the Lérins Islands across the bay. The Californie district, set on the eastern hillside above the city, is historically the most prestigious residential address in Cannes, known for its Belle Époque villas, mature gardens, and elevated sea views.
