Croisette Von Cannes

Cannes occupies a singular position on the French Riviera, a city whose international reputation extends well beyond the film festival that bears its name. The Boulevard de la Croisette, the city’s defining axis, runs along a crescent-shaped bay framed by the Esterel hills to the west and the Lérins Islands offshore. The city combines a working urban fabric with the concentrated luxury of a resort that has attracted European aristocracy, artists, and financiers since the mid-nineteenth century.

Daily life on the Croisette places residents within reach of the Marché Forville, the city’s main covered market, a ten-minute walk inland. The Rue d’Antibes, Cannes’ principal shopping street, runs parallel to the seafront. Restaurants including La Palme d’Or at the Martinez and Mantel in the old quarter define the dining scene at either end of the spectrum.

Cannes is served by its own train station on the main Marseille to Ventimiglia line, with direct TGV services to Paris taking approximately five hours and connections to Nice in under thirty minutes. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is approximately 25 kilometres east, reachable in around thirty minutes by car or via a direct bus service, and operates routes to most major European cities and intercontinental destinations.
