Capdepera occupies the northeastern tip of Mallorca, defined by its medieval hilltop castle, rugged coastline, and a pace of life that has remained largely unchanged despite the island’s broader development. The municipality encompasses Cala Rajada, the main port town, along with a series of coves including Cala Agulla, Cala Mesquida, and Cala Torta. This corner of the island retains a distinctly local character, with pine-covered hills running down to clear water and relatively low-density building compared to the southwest.

Cala Rajada has a working fishing harbour alongside restaurants such as Es Cranc and a range of seafood-focused dining along the waterfront. The weekly market in Capdepera town draws local producers. Cala Agulla, one of Mallorca’s better-regarded beaches, is a short drive. Artà, a well-preserved inland town with a significant prehistoric site at Ses Païsses, is approximately ten minutes away.

Palma de Mallorca is approximately 75 kilometres from Capdepera, reachable in around one hour by car via the Ma-15. Palma Airport handles direct flights to most major European cities and several intercontinental routes, with journey time from Capdepera of roughly 55 to 65 minutes by road. There is no rail connection to this part of the island. The nearest train station with service toward Palma is in Manacor, approximately 30 kilometres southwest.
