Benahavis is one of the most sought-after addresses on the Costa del Sol, a small mountain municipality set in the foothills of the Sierra de las Nieves that has built a reputation for exclusivity, privacy, and some of the highest-value real estate in Andalusia. The municipality borders Marbella and Estepona and contains a disproportionate share of the region’s gated residential estates, including La Zagaleta, one of Europe’s most exclusive private residential clubs. There is no direct rail access to Benahavis; private car or taxi remains the standard mode of transport throughout the municipality.
