Set within a magnificent estate of approximately 43 hectares in the Anadia region, this extraordinary 18th-century palace stands as one of the finest examples of Baroque civil architecture in the area. Classified as a Property of Public Interest, the estate is a remarkable testament to Portugal’s history, architecture and aristocratic heritage. The palace dates back to the last quarter of the 18th century, when it was commissioned by an influential Portuguese noble family. With its rectangular floor plan and elongated layout, the building reflects the distinctive character of the grand aristocratic residences of its time, combining architectural elegance with a commanding presence. The main façade, divided into three vertical sections, is distinguished by imposing Tuscan pilasters, finely carved stonework and elaborate decorative details. At its centre, a monumental ceremonial staircase, beginning with a semicircular flight before dividing into two symmetrical stairways, leads to the noble floor. Above the central window, an elaborate family coat of arms crowned by a double-headed eagle recalls the property’s aristocratic past. The estate also includes a private 18th-century chapel, connected to the main building by an archway, featuring a single nave, a chancel and a remarkable collection of 18th-century Portuguese tiles. One of the property’s most distinctive architectural features dates from 1896, when a Neo-Manueline wing was added. This extension incorporated architectural elements from different historical periods, including medieval stonework and capitals, some crafted by stonemasons who also contributed to the construction of the celebrated Palace Hotel do Buçaco. The combination of these influences gives the palace a particularly rare architectural identity. Over the centuries, the estate was associated with prominent Portuguese aristocratic families and was also mentioned in historical records for the richness of its artistic heritage and collection of antiquities. Beyond the main palace, the property includes an extensive collection of buildings, comprising stables, an indoor riding arena, an events hall, residential houses, former staff cottages, agricultural warehouses and an old dairy building. Distributed across different areas of the estate, these structures reflect its historical importance as both a noble residence and a substantial agricultural property. The surrounding 43 hectares consist of excellent-quality agricultural land, set within a beautiful and peaceful rural landscape. There is also the possibility of acquiring adjoining land, allowing for a further expansion of the estate. With its historical significance, architectural heritage and variety of buildings, this exceptional property offers considerable potential as a prestigious private residence, boutique hotel, cultural tourism destination or other uses compatible with its protected heritage status. Located approximately 50 km from Porto and 220 km from Lisbon, this is a rare opportunity to acquire and preserve a property of outstanding historical importance, where architecture, tradition and landscape come together in a truly remarkable setting. #ref:PR06
