Al Vigneto. Fünf Häuser. Klare Architektur. Die Natur Vor Ihrer Haustür.

In Arcegno, nestled in the green landscape above Losone and just a few kilometers from Ascona and Lake Maggiore, AL VIGNETO is emerging as an ensemble of five 4.5-room houses.
The project was designed by the renowned Locarno architectural firm Moro & Moro Architetti. The five houses follow the unique shape of the plot and combine clear architecture with natural materials, private outdoor areas, and a close connection to the surrounding landscape.
Especially valuable: The houses can be used as second homes. Thus, AL VIGNETO is suitable both as a permanent residence and as a personal home for vacations and longer stays in Ticino.
AL VIGNETO has been conceived as a cohesive ensemble. The houses speak the same architectural language, yet maintain their own character and a high degree of privacy.
The arrangement is oriented to the topography of the plot. Private entrances, private garden areas, and the orientation of the living areas create retreat opportunities, while generous openings bring light and landscape deep into the houses.
This creates a living form that combines compact architecture with the privacy of a standalone house.
Behind AL VIGNETO is Moro & Moro Architetti from Locarno. The project was personally developed by the owners – visible already in the characteristic sketches from which the current ensemble has gradually emerged.
The architecture is deliberately understated. Clear lines, generous openings, and a reduced choice of materials define the design. The focus is not on individual design effects, but on the interplay of house, plot, and landscape.
Natural stone, wood, exposed concrete, and glass shape the intended character of AL VIGNETO. Warm materials meet reduced forms and generous glazing.
How this materiality can work is shown by the reference images of an already realized residential project by the same developer. They convey an impression of his design handwriting and the intended execution quality. The shown references and visualizations serve for illustration; the final execution of the new construction project may differ in certain details.
In AL VIGNETO, the outdoor area is part of the living concept. Generous glazing opens the houses to the terrace and garden, creating a direct connection to the surroundings.
The private garden areas extend living outdoors – for the first coffee in the morning, long summer evenings, or simply the view into the greenery. Light, nature, and the changing moods of the Ticino landscape thus become an integral part of daily life.
A special feature of AL VIGNETO is the potential use as a second home or vacation house. This possibility is particularly interesting for new construction projects in the Locarno area today.
Arcegno belongs to the municipality of Losone and is situated amidst a green, expansive landscape above the Magadino plain. Forests, hiking trails, and the historic village center shape the immediate living environment, while Ascona, Locarno, and Lake Maggiore remain quickly accessible.
This location is precisely what makes it appealing: One lives quietly and close to nature, without withdrawing from the life around the lake. Restaurants, shopping opportunities, culture, golf, the lake, and the well-known places of Locarno are just a short drive away. The dossier consciously describes this connection as living between retreat and proximity to Lake Maggiore.
The project is currently under construction. What began with the original sketches by Moro & Moro is already visibly taking shape on the plot in Arcegno.
