Antibes occupies a distinctive position on the Côte d’Azur, sitting between Cannes and Nice on a peninsula that has been continuously inhabited since antiquity. The old town, enclosed by Vauban’s 17th-century ramparts above the sea, gives the city a solidity and historical depth that many of its neighbours lack. The Cap d’Antibes to the south remains one of the most prestigious residential addresses on the entire French Riviera, defined by large private estates, pine forests, and direct sea access.

Daily life centres on the Marché Provençal on Cours Masséna, open every morning except Monday. The old town offers restaurants including Le Vauban and numerous seafood options along the port. Juan-les-Pins, immediately adjacent, provides beaches, the Pinède Gould concert venue, and a lively restaurant strip along Avenue Georges Gallice.

Antibes has its own train station on the main Marseille to Ventimiglia line, with direct TGV services to Paris taking approximately five and a half hours. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is approximately 20 kilometres away, around 25 minutes by car or accessible by train via Nice Saint-Augustin. Cannes is 12 kilometres to the southwest and Nice 22 kilometres to the northeast, both reachable in under 30 minutes by road or rail.
