Vallauris sits in the hills above the Côte d’Azur between Cannes and Antibes, a town shaped by centuries of ceramics tradition and permanently marked by Pablo Picasso, who worked here in the late 1940s and donated works that remain on permanent display in the Château de Vallauris. The Saint-Maymes quarter occupies the quieter residential fringe of the commune, where the density drops and properties sit within generous grounds, offering a degree of privacy that the coastal towns themselves rarely provide.

Daily life draws on both Vallauris and the surrounding towns. The covered market in Golfe-Juan is a ten-minute drive, and the commercial centre of Antibes, including the Marché Provençal on Cours Masséna, is under fifteen minutes. Cannes and its full range of dining, from La Palme d’Or to the Forville market, is roughly the same distance by car.

Cannes train station is approximately ten minutes by car and provides direct TGV connections to Paris in around five and a half hours. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is roughly thirty minutes east along the A8 motorway, serving over 100 destinations including direct routes to major European and international hubs. The motorway also connects quickly to Monaco, around forty-five minutes in normal traffic.
