Antibes — Stadtzentrum

Antibes occupies a singular position on the Côte d’Azur, sitting between Cannes and Nice on a limestone cape that has been inhabited since antiquity. The old town, enclosed by Vauban-designed ramparts that drop directly into the Mediterranean, retains a density of history and architectural texture that newer resort towns along this coast cannot replicate. The daily market at the Marché Provençal, the narrow lanes of the Vieil Antibes, and the seafront promenade give the city a year-round residential character rather than a purely seasonal one.

The Marché Provençal on Cours Masséna runs every morning except Monday and anchors daily life in the old town. Restaurants including Le Vauban and La Taverne du Safranier serve reliable local cooking within walking distance of the centre. Port Vauban, one of the largest yacht harbours in Europe, is a constant presence. Juan-les-Pins, with its beach clubs and jazz festival, is a ten-minute drive.

Antibes has its own train station on the main Marseille to Ventimiglia line, with direct TGV services connecting to Paris in approximately five and a half hours. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is roughly 20 kilometres away, around 25 minutes by car or accessible by train via Nice Saint-Augustin. Cannes is 12 kilometres to the southwest and Nice 23 kilometres to the northeast, both reachable in under 30 minutes by rail.
