Antibes occupies a singular position on the Côte d’Azur, sitting between Cannes and Nice with a character that neither city can replicate. The old town, enclosed by Vauban-designed ramparts that drop directly into the Mediterranean, has a density of history and texture that feels genuinely lived-in rather than curated for tourism. The weekly market at the Cours Masséna, the narrow streets of the Vieil Antibes, and the Cap d’Antibes peninsula to the south give the city a range and depth that rewards long-term residence.

The Marché Provençal on Cours Masséna runs most mornings and anchors daily life in the old town. Restaurant Le Vauban and Chez Juliette are reliable local addresses. The port area offers direct access to sailing and water sports. Cap d’Antibes, a short drive south, is home to the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc and some of the coast’s most private residential addresses.

Antibes has its own train station on the main Marseille to Ventimiglia line, with direct TGV services connecting to Paris in approximately five and a half hours. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is roughly 20 kilometres east, accessible in around 25 minutes by car or via a short train ride to Nice followed by the airport shuttle. Cannes is 12 kilometres west, reachable in under 15 minutes by train.
