Mas, Aix En Provence

Saint-Marc-Jaumegarde is a small, highly regarded village set against the northern slopes of the Montagne Sainte-Victoire, the limestone massif that defined Cézanne’s landscape and remains one of the most recognizable natural landmarks in Provence. The village sits within a protected natural zone, which has preserved its character: stone architecture, pine and oak woodland, and an absence of commercial development that distinguishes it sharply from the suburban periphery of Aix-en-Provence, just five minutes to the south.

Daily life here relies on Aix-en-Provence for most services. The Marché du Cours Mirabeau and the covered Marché Central are both within a short drive. The Cours Mirabeau itself offers a concentration of cafés, including Les Deux Garçons, and the city’s cultural institutions, including the Musée Granet, are easily accessible. The village itself has no commercial center.

Aix-en-Provence TGV station, located at the Arbois plateau roughly 15 minutes by car, connects to Paris Gare de Lyon in approximately three hours. Marseille-Provence Airport at Marignane is around 30 minutes by car, offering direct routes to major European hubs. Marseille city center is accessible in under 40 minutes by road, and the A8 motorway provides straightforward access east toward Nice and the Côte d’Azur.
