"Dentside Explorer"

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1976 Ford F-150 Custom Explorer, a classic ”Dentside” pickup that combines original character with a number of thoughtful updates. Originally sold new in Colorado and reportedly purchased by its second owner in 2023, this long-bed F-150 is finished in Jade Metallic with white side stripes and Explorer badging, giving it the unmistakable look of a classic Ford truck.

Power comes from a 360ci V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The truck is equipped with locking front hubs, power steering, power-assisted front disc brakes, and an auxiliary fuel tank. Recent mechanical work includes a replacement starter, carburetor, and fuel pump, while the cab mounts and floor pans were replaced in 2024.

The exterior retains a great vintage appearance with its Jade Metallic patina, white side stripes, chrome bumpers and grille, Explorer badging, sliding rear window, vent windows, dual mirrors, and rear step bumper. The truck rides on 16-inch silver American Racing wheels wrapped in Falken Wildpeak tires, which were installed in January 2024.

Inside, the F-150 has a beautifully preserved black vinyl bench seat, black carpeting, rubber floor mats, and three-point seatbelts. A retro-style digital stereo adds modern convenience while maintaining the classic appearance, and the factory-style gauges provide information on speed, fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure.

With its classic Dentside styling, Explorer Package, 360 V8, 4-speed manual transmission, and dual-range 4x4 system, this 1976 Ford F-150 Custom is a great example of the traditional American pickup. It has the character of a truck that has been used and enjoyed while benefiting from important updates to make it ready for its next chapter.
