The 55 Ford F100 is a classic American pickup truck produced by the Ford Motor Company. It was part of the Ford F-Series, which has been a popular line of trucks in the United States since the late 1940s. The ”F100” designation indicates that it was a half-ton truck, suitable for various light-duty hauling and transportation tasks and well suited to be customized.
Under the power tilt hood is a Ford 460 V8 big block that has been treated to a mild cam, Edelbrock intake manifold and four-barrel carb. Exhaust exits via headers and duals.
Running through the gears is done by a 4-speed transmission with a floor mounted Hurst shifter. Outback is a sturdy Ford nine-inch rearend.
Inside the roomy cab you will find Dakota digital gauges that monitor the engines vitals. Tunes are by way of an Audiobahn AM-FM-CD-Stereo. Seats are a combination of tan leather and tweed surfaces.
Power front disc brakes with rear drums help to bring this F100 to a halt while Mustang II front end components keep the big rig driving straight. Boyd 18” wheels wrapped in Pirelli SuperSport P275/35ZR18 tires help with the handling duties.
The bed interior was treated to a beautiful plank wood with gloss finish and chrome slots that rounds out many of the custom touches this pickup has been treated to.
The 1955 F100 is a sought-after classic truck among enthusiasts and collectors due to its unique design and historical significance. Customized examples are in demand on the collector market.
