These cars featured more premium trim on both the interior and exterior, and were all fitted with Ford’s flathead V8 engine. This 1939 Deluxe Convertible is a beautiful example, presented in Maroon over dark tan with a tan cloth soft top and has been treated to a number of subtle upgrades underneath, making it far better to drive, without altering the stock appearance. The 1939 Fords can easily be spotted, as it was the first year of integrated headlights in the front fenders, and a large chrome grille gives an almost Lincoln-like appearance, to the outside. The Maroon paint is complimented by chrome trim down the sides of the car, as well as along the spine of the hood, and the bumpers both front and rear. Additional seating is provided by a rear rumble seat, which gives the car a sleek look when closed, but is tremendous fun to ride in when the compartment is open. The car sits on a set of 15-inch wheels with Deluxe chrome hubcaps and radial white wall tires. The tan vinyl interior is simple with just a split-folding bench seat up front, paired with the rear rumble seat, and wood trim is found on the doors and dash fascia. In front of the driver sits a large 3-spoke banjo-style steering wheel, framing a pair of gauges with a 100 mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges to its left. For increased reliability, the electrical system has been converted to 12V, which is a desirable upgrade for a classic from this generation. Under the hood sits a 221ci Flathead V8, which has been upgraded with triple Stromberg 97 carburetors on an Offenhauser aluminum intake manifold for additional power. Additionally, Offenhauser finned aluminum heads help keep the engine cool, and a set of Fenton headers lead into a true dual exhaust with chrome tips, giving the car a fantastic classic Flathead sound. Up front, a Mustang II front clip has been fitted, giving the car independent front suspension, with adjustable coilovers, poly bushings, rack and pinion steering and disc brakes. It can not be overstated how much this upgrade improves the drivability of this car, transforming it from a museum piece, into something you’ll look forward to using. Power is sent through a 3-speed manual gearbox to the rear wheels. This 1939 Ford Deluxe Convertible is an undisputed classic, with fantastic looks and upscale interior accommodations, that has been lightly fettled to make it much more fun to drive. Perfect for cruising around town with your friends and family, and stout enough to use frequently when the weather is good, there is room in every collection for a drop-top Ford with a sweet sounding Flathead V8. *- -* For more information on this 1939 Ford Deluxe Convertible or any of our 100+ cars always in stock, contact one of our friendly and knowledgeable sales consultants or always feel free to stop by our Bellevue, WA Park Place Ltd campus - where we have over 40,000 sq ft of indoor showrooms filled with the finest cars.
