UK Sotheby’s International Realty, known for offering “exceptional homes and unrivaled expertise,” is part of a global network with 1,115 offices across 84 countries and territories. The launch of an exclusive buying arm at the UK firm expands their advisory services, catering to UHNWIs across global markets.
Led by Becky Fatemi, an experienced entrepreneur with deep roots in high-end real estate, the initiative provides unparalleled access to prime properties, market insights, and a worldwide network. The team is already serving private clients with a combined budget of over £300 million. Their services span the UK, Italy, Balearics, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Miami.
Becky FatemiExecutive Partner at UK Sotheby’s International Realty“Sotheby’s International Realty – and the wider Sotheby’s brand – can be epitomized by an ethos of excellence. As such, this was a natural extension of the realty service; because when you are dealing with UHNWIs, it’s about providing a full 360-degree service. Once a client is engaged with Sotheby’s, they have an advisor who is experienced, professional, and motivated by delivering above and beyond.”
Introducing the Buying Arm
Sotheby’s realty business embodies excellence, with the buying arm designed to complement its services. It provides tailored advisory support to UHNWIs, including market insights, and guidance in the fast-changing real estate sector locally and globally.
Vision Behind the Launch
The buying arm was something that was already happening, but the formalization of it was inspired by a record amount of increased private client work amid a shifting political landscape. Fatemi, who previously worked with Foxtons Founder Jon Hunt and later founded Rokstone, merged her successful agency with UK Sotheby’s International Realty in 2023. With a wealth of relationships with top developers and the owners of the best houses in the world, her and her team bring a deep knowledge of London’s super-prime real estate.

How Does the Invitation-Only Model Work?
The team receives many referrals, and while they’d love to offer the buying arm service to everyone, they want to ensure they act in clients’ best interests and in line with their requirements.
The buying arm fits seamlessly with Sotheby’s broader global strategy. “It’s about providing a full service and knowing how a client lives,” says Fatemi. “We are selling lifestyles as well as bricks and mortar; understanding how a client lives internationally, will allow us to best serve their needs locally, and to utilize our team’s global network most efficiently and effectively.” As expert advisors, the team is determined to do their best for new and existing clientele.

Services & Client Experience
Fatemi and her expert team are what sets the buying service apart. “With our network of the best tax advisors and lawyers who understand global wealth, we can navigate this new landscape,” she says. Furthermore, having lived and worked in different cities around the world, Fatemi has a broad cultural understanding.
The buying arm process takes about six months, providing clients with a thorough market understanding, even if they don’t make a purchase or rental.

Consultancy & Market Insights
The team stays informed on current affairs and off-market deals, using this insight to guide clients’ decisions. They focus on the UK, Balearics, Miami, and Dubai—upscale, fast-growing destinations.
Tailored Advisory for Clients in a Dynamic Market
The buying arm includes Chris Sellwood, Ella Gondzic, Olivia McSweeney, and Shana Edwards, each bringing expertise in real estate, art, fashion, and the Middle East. The consultancy helps clients navigate the global real estate market, with strong developer relationships and access to top-tier intel.
The team also advises on investments beyond property, including lifestyle and commercial assets. “We can identify trends in certain areas like the expansion of London’s W2 regeneration program and opportunities in the Middle East,” says Fatemi. Trends are shifting toward destinations like Dubai and Miami, where lifestyle and tax are increasingly attractive.

Key Locations Driving Growth & Investment Potential
Having worked in London’s super-prime market for over 25 years, Fatemi sees the UK as a natural choice.
Fatemi also notes that “The Balearics is a natural shift,” with many clients owning second homes in Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca, and Marbella. Luxury home prices in Spain have risen 37% in five years due to rising demand and property value appreciation.

Miami, USA, and Dubai, UAE
Meanwhile, Miami is a fast-growing hub for the ultra-wealthy, driven by its favorable tax environment and global connectivity. Demand for $10 million-plus homes in Miami is surging, with the city emerging as a key player in the global luxury real estate market.
Sotheby’s International Realty also leads luxury developments in Dubai, where demand from affluent Londoners is growing, and the market defies expectations of a slowdown.
