A single-level villa of 296 sqm, with no stairs anywhere in the house — a format Phuket’s new builds are quietly abandoning as land costs push developers upward.
It is one of nine villas in a private enclave in the island’s green north. The terrace roof is cantilevered, with no columns, so the glass slides open onto one continuous line — sofa, shaded terrace, 12-metre pool. Evening light comes straight down that line.
Backlit timber ceiling coffers run through the living areas and bedrooms, holding the height without making it cold. The deep concrete overhang outside does quiet, constant work: it keeps the midday sun off the glass, so the living area stays open to the garden through the hottest hours instead of hiding behind curtains. Together they keep the house noticeably cooler — and the air-conditioning bills lower — than standard island construction. Solid-core doors keep it quiet. Solar panels are standard, not an upgrade. Each villa carries its own water filtration and a private reserve tank, backed by a larger reserve for the estate, so a mains interruption passes unnoticed. Exterior ceilings and cladding are in composite rated for thirty years of tropical sun.
The enclave carries the name Alinda — 7,600 sqm in Thalang, the low-rise part of the island where Phuket’s international families have been settling for the past decade. The construction firm behind it has been building on Phuket since 2008; its portfolio includes Hyatt Place Patong, Mövenpick and Hilton Garden Inn. The villas are built to the standard hotels demand, scaled to a home.
From the gate: about ten minutes to UWC Thailand International School, fifteen to Bang Tao Beach and the restaurants of Boat Avenue, twenty to the airport — close enough for a school run and a swim before lunch, far enough that the only traffic on the estate road is your own.
