On Phuket’s northwest coast, within a gated collection of twenty villas set along a natural lake, this single-storey residence occupies one of five plots where the garden meets the water directly. The lakefront orientation means the view is not something you walk toward — it is simply there, constant and unobstructed, from the main living area to the bedroom wing.
The architecture is low and horizontal, with a wide-spanning roofline that anchors the villa to the landscape rather than rising above it. A double-volume living space runs the full width of the lakefront facade, framed by floor-to-ceiling glazing on folding panels that open the interior entirely to the terrace and the water beyond. Rammed earth walls — compressed local soil, an ancient technique applied here with precision — line the entrance sequence and the bedroom wing, bringing natural texture and thermal mass that conventional construction rarely achieves. Warm timber panels run the length of the ceiling overhead, giving the volume weight without heaviness. The kitchen island, finished in travertine-toned stone with solid wood cabinetry, sits at the centre of the plan — visible from the dining table, open to the living zone, facing the lake.
Two master suites anchor opposite ends of the private wing, each with a direct lake orientation. The Grand Master Bedroom is the larger of the two, with a dedicated dressing area and an en-suite bathroom finished in large-format stone, a freestanding soaking tub, and an open rain shower. The second master suite mirrors the same outlook and finishes. Two further bedrooms complete the wing, each with its own bathroom — four bedrooms, five bathrooms in total, arranged so that the private areas remain separate from the social spaces of the villa.
Outside, a 15-metre pool runs parallel to the lakefront, with a sunken seat set into the pool deck at one end — a detail that changes how the space is used, turning it from somewhere you swim to somewhere you stay. The covered terrace extends the dining zone into the open air. From the kitchen island to the dining table, from the terrace to the pool, from the pool edge to the lake — the sequence of spaces moves without interruption toward the water and the forested hills beyond.
A separate Thai kitchen sits to the rear of the plan alongside the Western kitchen — a practical separation that, in daily life, matters more than it might appear on a floor plan.
