Pollensa sits in the northeastern corner of Mallorca, at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana, the mountain range that runs the length of the island’s western and northern spine and carries UNESCO World Heritage status. The town is one of the most architecturally intact in the Balearics, with a medieval core of stone townhouses, a Roman bridge, and a pine-lined calvary staircase of 365 steps leading to a hilltop chapel. The surrounding countryside, a mosaic of olive groves, dry-stone walls, and limestone peaks, is among the most protected and least developed land on the island.

The weekly Sunday market in Pollensa’s Plaça Major draws both residents and serious buyers of local produce. The old town has a reliable concentration of good restaurants, including La Font del Gall and Clivia, both well regarded locally. Port de Pollensa, roughly five kilometres away, offers waterfront dining, a sailing club, and a long, calm bay suitable for year-round use.

Palma de Mallorca is approximately 55 kilometres southwest of Pollensa, reachable in under an hour by car via the Ma-13 motorway. Palma Airport handles direct flights to most major European cities, with journey times of two to three hours to London, Paris, Frankfurt, and Barcelona. The port of Alcudia, offering ferry connections to Barcelona and Valencia, is approximately 15 kilometres from Pollensa.
