Sant Llorenç des Cardassar is a small inland municipality in the eastern part of Mallorca, sitting between the Serra de Llevant hills and the coastal wetlands of the Parc Natural de s’Albufera des Grau. The area retains a genuinely rural character, with dry-stone walls, almond and carob groves, and traditional Mallorcan farmhouses known as possessions. It is one of the quieter corners of the island, largely untouched by the resort development that defines much of the coastline.

The municipality includes the villages of Sant Llorenç, Son Carrió, and Sa Coma. Artà, a well-regarded inland town with a strong local market and several respected restaurants, is roughly 15 minutes by car. The beaches of Cala Millor and Sa Coma are under 10 minutes’ drive, and Manacor, the island’s second city, is approximately 20 minutes west.

Palma de Mallorca Airport is approximately 60 kilometres from Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, a drive of around 50 to 60 minutes via the Ma-15 motorway through Manacor. Palma Airport operates year-round international routes to most major European cities, with significantly expanded connections from April through October. There is no rail connection to this part of the island, making a car essential for daily life.
