Country House, Ses Salines, Mallorca

Ses Salines sits at the southern tip of Mallorca, a small agricultural town whose character is defined by salt flats, almond groves, and dry-stone walls rather than resort development. The surrounding landscape is protected under the Parc Natural de Ses Salines d’Eivissa i Formentera, which extends across the coastline and wetlands to the south. The town itself retains a working rural identity, with traditional Mallorcan stone architecture and a pace of life largely unchanged by the island’s tourism industry.

The town centre is within a short walk, with a weekly market and local cafés. The beaches of Es Trenc and Colònia de Sant Jordi are roughly six kilometres away by car. Santanyí, a larger market town with established restaurants and galleries, is approximately twelve kilometres to the northeast. Palma is around fifty kilometres north.

Palma de Mallorca Airport is approximately forty-five kilometres from Ses Salines, a drive of around forty to fifty minutes via the Ma-19 and Ma-6014. The airport operates year-round international routes to major European cities, with significantly expanded connections from spring through autumn. Palma itself, reachable in under an hour by car, provides the full range of urban services, private banking, international schools, and a marina with berths for large vessels.
