Son Ferriol is a quiet residential district on the southeastern edge of Palma, set among agricultural land that gives it a distinctly rural character despite its proximity to the city. The area is defined by traditional Mallorcan fincas, low-density housing, and working olive and almond groves that reflect the island’s agricultural heritage. It occupies a position between the urban fabric of Palma and the open countryside of the Pla de Sant Jordi plain, offering a grounded, unhurried quality that is increasingly rare this close to the capital.

Day-to-day needs are met in Son Ferriol’s local commercial strip, with supermarkets, bakeries, and cafés within a short drive. The Mercat de l’Olivar in central Palma, one of the island’s principal food markets, is roughly ten minutes by car. The restaurants and dining scene of Palma’s Santa Catalina district are similarly accessible.

Son Ferriol sits approximately six kilometres from central Palma, a drive of around ten to fifteen minutes via the Ma-19.
