Residential Sóller Spain

Sóller occupies a broad valley in the Serra de Tramuntana, the mountain range that runs along the northwest coast of Mallorca and carries UNESCO World Heritage status as a cultural landscape. The town has a distinct identity shaped by its relative isolation, its 19th-century mercantile wealth built on citrus exports to France, and its Modernista architecture concentrated around the central Plaça de la Constitució. The surrounding groves of orange and lemon trees, the stone terraces, and the scale of the valley give Sóller a character unlike anywhere else on the island.

Daily life centres on the Plaça de la Constitució, where Café Scholl and the market held on Saturdays anchor the week. The port, Port de Sóller, is a ten-minute drive and offers restaurants including Es Faro and Agapanto. Palma’s food markets, hospitals, and international schools are roughly 30 kilometres away via the Ma-11 mountain road or the tunnel.

Sóller is connected to Palma by the historic narrow-gauge railway, a journey of approximately one hour, departing from the town’s own station on Carrer de la Mar. By car, Palma is around 35 minutes via the Sóller tunnel on the Ma-11. Palma de Mallorca Airport is approximately 45 minutes by car and operates year-round flights to major European cities, with expanded connections from April through October.
