Residential Santa Margalida Spain

Santa Margalida is a traditional Mallorcan market town in the northeast of the island, set inland from the Bay of Alcúdia and largely untouched by the mass tourism that defines much of the coastline. The town retains its agricultural character, with stone-built streets, a central parish church dedicated to Santa Margalida, and a pace of life that reflects the rhythms of the Mallorcan interior rather than the resort economy. It is a place where local identity remains intact.

The town has a weekly market and a small commercial centre with everyday services. The beaches of Can Picafort, a coastal settlement within the municipality, are roughly five kilometres away. Alcúdia, with its walled old town, restaurants, and larger marina, is approximately fifteen kilometres north. Palma’s dining and cultural offer is around fifty kilometres southwest.

Palma de Mallorca Airport is approximately fifty kilometres from Santa Margalida, reachable in around forty-five minutes by car via the Ma-13 motorway. The airport operates year-round international routes to major European cities, with significantly expanded connections from April through October. There is no direct rail link to the town, making a private vehicle essential for daily use. Alcúdia and Palma are the primary hubs for ferry connections to mainland Spain and other Balearic islands.
