Sant Lluís is a small, well-preserved municipality in the southeastern corner of Menorca, founded by French settlers during the brief Bourbon occupation of the island in the eighteenth century. Its grid-plan village centre, whitewashed architecture, and unhurried pace set it apart from the more developed parts of the island. The surrounding countryside is characterised by dry-stone walls, ancient farmhouses, and a coastline that includes some of Menorca’s most sheltered and least commercialised coves.

The village itself has a weekly market, a handful of reliable restaurants including Es Molí de Foc, and everyday shops covering most practical needs. The coves of Binibèquer, Punta Prima, and Binisafuller are all within a five-minute drive. Mahón, the island capital, is approximately eight kilometres to the north.

Mahón is reachable in around fifteen minutes by car and offers the full range of urban services, including the ferry terminal with regular connections to Barcelona and Valencia. Menorca Airport sits roughly ten kilometres from Sant Lluís and handles direct flights to major European cities, with journey times of two hours or less to London, Paris, and Barcelona. The island’s compact size means no destination on Menorca is more than forty minutes away by road.
