Saint Tropez – Contemporary Villa Near Pampelonne Beaches

Saint-Tropez occupies a singular position on the French Riviera, a peninsula that extends into the Mediterranean between the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and the open sea. Once a quiet fishing village, it became one of the most recognisable addresses in the world through its association with artists, filmmakers, and the international jet set from the 1950s onward. That history has shaped a town of genuine character: a working port, a Citadelle dating to the sixteenth century, and an old quarter of ochre and terracotta facades that has remained largely intact.

Daily life centres on the Place des Lices, home to a twice-weekly market, and the port lined with restaurants including Sénéquier and Le Club 55 on Pampelonne beach. The Pampelonne strip, roughly five kilometres south of town, is the primary beach destination. Ramatuelle and Gassin, two hilltop villages, are within ten minutes by car.

Saint-Tropez has no train station. The nearest rail connection is at Saint-Raphaël, approximately 35 kilometres away, with TGV services to Paris in around five hours. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is the primary gateway, located roughly 100 kilometres to the east, typically 90 minutes to two hours by road depending on season. Helicopter transfers from Nice to Saint-Tropez take approximately 30 minutes and are widely used during summer.
