Saint-Tropez occupies a singular position on the French Riviera, a peninsula town that has maintained its identity as both a working fishing village and one of the most recognized addresses in the world. The old town, known as the Ponche quarter, retains its pastel-painted facades and narrow lanes, while the port and Place des Lices anchor daily life for residents and long-term visitors alike. Its reputation draws an international ownership base, yet the scale of the town remains intimate and walkable.

Place des Lices hosts a market on Tuesday and Saturday mornings. Café de Paris and Sénéquier on the port are established daily reference points. Saint-Tropez has no train station. The nearest rail connection is at Saint-Raphaël, approximately 35 kilometres away, with regular TGV services to Paris in roughly four hours. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is the primary hub, around 90 kilometres by road, typically one hour and fifteen minutes outside peak season. Helicopter transfers from Nice to Saint-Tropez take approximately 20 minutes and are widely used by residents during summer.
