La Môle is a small inland commune in the Var department, sitting in the forested hills of the Massif des Maures roughly 15 kilometres northwest of Saint-Tropez. It occupies a distinctly different register from the coastal resorts: agricultural land, oak and chestnut woodland, and working estates define the landscape here. The village itself is quiet and largely unchanged, with a medieval church and a local aerodrome that serves private aviation. Properties of significant scale and privacy are the norm rather than the exception.
Day-to-day provisions are available in Cogolin and Grimaud, both within 15 minutes by car. The markets at Saint-Tropez and Cogolin cover fresh produce and regional goods. The beaches of Le Lavandou are accessible via forest tracks directly from the area. The restaurants and port of Saint-Tropez are a 20-minute drive.
