Fréjus occupies a distinctive position on the Var coast, midway between Cannes and Saint-Tropez, where the Massif de l’Estérel meets the Mediterranean. Founded as a Roman port city, its layered history is still legible in the fabric of the old town, from the amphitheatre and aqueduct remains to the medieval episcopal complex. The coastline here, known as the Corniche de Fréjus, offers direct sea frontage without the density or price premiums of the more celebrated resorts to the east.

The port of Fréjus-Saint-Raphaël is within easy reach, with waterfront restaurants along the quays and a weekly market in the old town. Saint-Raphaël, immediately adjacent, adds further dining and retail options. The beaches of Fréjus Plage are accessible on foot from the coastal zone, and the golf courses of Roquebrune-sur-Argens are a short drive inland.

Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is approximately 60 kilometres to the east, roughly 50 minutes by car via the A8 autoroute. Saint-Raphaël-Valescure station provides TGV connections to Paris in around five hours and direct services to Marseille in under two hours. Cannes is 35 kilometres west, Saint-Tropez around 50 kilometres east via the coast road, making Fréjus a practical base for the wider Riviera.
