Saint Jean D'arvey Property

This historic fortified house nestled in a green setting has stood the test of time and is ready to be restored to continue its story.

Overlooking the Chambéry valley with an unobstructed view, the d’Arvey family was the first known owner of the property in the 12th and 13th centuries. Only 10 different families have owned this estate to date.

Once past the castle gates, a shaded avenue under the plane trees heightens the anticipation before discovering the property. The 1.3-hectare park is laid out around a path that allows you to walk around the building, serving the main house, the 150m² annex, the pond and the pool, as well as the many landscaped and shaded outdoor spaces.

Rich in history, this building requires a thorough restoration to continue through the coming centuries. Currently inhabited on only two levels, the attic and the tower have not yet been restored.

This residence, one of the oldest in the village, will captivate lovers of enchanting places with historical charm.

The main building currently houses two dwellings. The 150m² annex at the back of the estate provides parking for vehicles and storage for equipment needed to maintain the park.

On the ground floor, 250m² are available, of which only 150m² have been renovated into an independent apartment.

Climbing the 31 steps to the second floor, a landing welcomes you to a chapel, whose remains are still in place.

The second floor consists of a larger 190m² apartment, with an additional 60m² space that has not been renovated.

The attics on the third and fourth levels could provide over 300m² of additional space.

Currently, the building is a co-ownership of two housing units. Not classified as a historic monument but protected by the current PLUi, only restoration of the building is permitted, and the creation of new housing is possible within the existing structure. The park is in a non-buildable zone.
