A Family Bastide

Roussillon is one of the most visually distinctive villages in the Luberon, built almost entirely from the ochre-rich stone that gives the surrounding landscape its extraordinary palette of reds, oranges, and yellows. Classified among the Plus Beaux Villages de France, it sits on a high ridge in the Vaucluse, with views across the Luberon massif and the Apt valley. The village has a coherent, unhurried character shaped by its geology, its light, and a long tradition of attracting artists and writers.

Daily life centres on the Place de la Mairie and the weekly market in Apt, twelve kilometres away, which is one of the best-stocked provençal markets in the region. Roussillon itself has several restaurants, including Le Bistrot de Roussillon, and independent galleries. Gordes and Bonnieux are both within twenty minutes by car.

Roussillon sits approximately one hour from Avignon TGV station, which connects to Paris Gare de Lyon in around two hours and forty minutes. Marseille Provence Airport is roughly ninety minutes by car and handles direct flights to major European cities. Aix-en-Provence is about seventy kilometres to the south, reachable in under an hour, providing access to additional rail and motorway connections.
