A magnificent finca over 300 years old transformed into modern comfort while retaining its original charm and character. The finca is situated in the prestigious and very exclusive area of ’The Valley of Los Frontones,’ just 15 minutes outside Ronda, one of Spain’s most visited historical towns and only a 50-minute drive from Marbella.
La Villa Magdalena is a large estate, hosting a six-bedroom villa with an en-suite master bedroom, walk-in closet, and a private terrace with spectacular views. The villa is built on a private thorough road with a private paddle court, pétanque, event courtyard for dining and weddings. It is a beautiful property with a garden inspired by the great Alhambra, with two saline water pools and comes with a private helipad.
At the heart of the Villa is a unique handcrafted kitchen in oak created by highly skilled local carpenters who also made the period windows with sunshades, all made from solid hardwood keeping with the property’s character. The kitchen, dining, and living room areas are all open plan; there is also a library with bespoke windows and doors overlooking the beautiful and typical ’Andalusian Patio.’
The estate is over 50,000m² offering flexibility for future changes. The Olive grove has around 350 olive trees which make the best organic olive oil and over 40 almond trees, other trees include orange, fig, pomegranate, pear, and more. Furthermore, the villa has its own large organic vegetable garden. No toxins or pesticides have been used on the gardens or in the house.
There is over 4km of handmade drywall surrounding the estate all made from local stone. There is a new irrigation system that encompasses the whole garden and a newly installed exterior lighting system. There is a new Daikin underfloor heating system and new air conditioning throughout, giving all-year-round comfort.
Calle Virgen de la Paz sits within Ronda’s historic urban fabric, a short walk from the Plaza de España and the edge of the Tajo gorge, one of the most dramatic natural formations in southern Spain. The street reflects the character of the old town: whitewashed facades, wrought-iron balconies, and a scale that remains resolutely pedestrian. This is the Ronda that has drawn writers, painters, and travellers for centuries, a place where the architecture and landscape are inseparable.
Daily life in Ronda centres on the old town. Restaurante Bardal, holder of two Michelin stars, is minutes away. The Mercado de Abastos on Calle Virgen de la Paz itself supplies fresh local produce. Parador de Ronda, the Plaza de Toros (one of Spain’s oldest bullrings), and the Arab Baths are all within a ten-minute walk.
Ronda sits approximately 100 kilometres from Málaga, reachable by car in around 90 minutes via the A-367 and A-357. Direct train services connect Ronda to Málaga in roughly two hours. Marbella on the Costa del Sol is approximately 60 kilometres away, around 75 minutes by car. Málaga Airport, the main international gateway for the region, handles direct routes to most major European cities and is the practical hub for international travel.
