Calle de Sa Travessia sits on the elevated edge of Puigpunyent, a small inland village in the Serra de Tramuntana mountains of western Mallorca. The street looks out over a valley of terraced olive groves and dry-stone walls, with Puig de Galatzó rising sharply to the northwest. This is one of the quietest corners of the island, where the built fabric is modest and traditional, and the surrounding landscape of the Tramuntana range dominates the experience of daily life.
The village centre is a few minutes by car and provides a pharmacy, supermarket, bank, and several local bars and restaurants. The Reserva natural park, the only private nature reserve on Mallorca, is directly accessible from this area. Palma is approximately 20 kilometres to the east, reached in around 25 to 30 minutes by car via the Ma-1032.
Palma de Mallorca Airport is roughly 30 kilometres from Puigpunyent, typically a 30 to 35 minute drive via the ring road. The airport operates year-round international routes to major European cities, with expanded connections during summer. There is no rail or metro service to the village; a car is essential. Palma itself, with its cathedral, old town, and full range of services, functions as the practical and cultural hub for residents of this part of the island.
