TIRRENIA HISTORY:
Tirrenia is a coastal hamlet of the municipality of Pisa, named after the Tyrrhenian Sea (although it is overlooking the Ligurian Sea, according to the conventions of the Hydrographic Institute of the Navy) and is populated by about 3,000 inhabitants.
It is located southwest of the municipal capital, between the coast and the Migliarino San Rossore Massaciuccoli Nature Park: practically in the center of the Tuscan coast, immediately south of Versilia and more precisely between Marina di Pisa to the north and Calambrone to the south.
The hamlet was also launched as a city of Cinema and inside was built the first large-scale film studios in Italy, at the same time as the founding of the production company Tirrenia and its Film Studios opened in 1933. A cinematic dream that lasted very little, considering that already in 1937 the first theaters of the future Cinecittà were born in Rome. It was the theatres of Tirrenia that were demanded by the Germans during World War II and used as depots of strategic material.
Today the economy of Tirrenia no longer owes anything to the Cinema and is based almost entirely on tourism, both domestic and foreign, mainly thanks to the presence of several beach resorts. That said, the hamlet also produces profit thanks to fishing (practiced mainly by the locals), thanks to the presence of several agricultural fields of research of the nearby University of Pisa and thanks to the induced generated by the American base of Camp Darby, located in part of its territory.
Located in coastal Pisa, this luxurious property offers a blend of urban living and serene nature. It’s a short drive to the Leaning Tower, splendid beaches, and the cultural heart of Tuscany. Enjoy easy access to Italian dining, high-end boutiques, and Pisa International Airport. Ideal for those seeking a refined lifestyle with the convenience of city living and rural tranquility, this location promises a rich cultural experience and unparalleled scenic beauty.
