Palazzo Storico Sul Lungarno – Residenza Rinascimentale Con Comfort Moderni A Pisa

Just 3 km from Pisa’s Galileo Galilei International Airport, on the most exclusive side of the Pisa waterfront, stands an imposing historic building with a unique graffiti-decorated facade. It was once the residence of Alamanno Aragona d’Appiano, grandson of Cosimo I de’ Medici.

From 1665 until 1841, it belonged to the Grassi family, Sienese patricians. Afterwards, the palace was inherited by the noble Agostini Venerosi della Seta family until 2008. Since then, after various vicissitudes, the property has been owned by an important real estate company. Following a lengthy approval process with the Cultural Heritage Superintendence and a qualified consolidation effort, they are restoring the building to its former glory.

The undeniable beauty and charm of the waterfront, with its palaces lining the river, are remembered in letters written by two illustrious poets: Giacomo Leopardi and Percy [hidden information].

Leopardi, in a letter to his sister, wrote: “...this waterfront is such a vast, magnificent, joyful, and cheerful spectacle...”

Percy, in a letter to Lord Byron, wrote: “Stop on the marble bridge... and tell me if there’s anything that can surpass a sunset in Pisa.”

To be fair, at the historic Caffè dell’Ussero, on marble slabs affixed to the riverbank parapet, the full praises that the two poets dedicated to the unique beauty of the waterfront have been inscribed.

The palace was built in the 16th century (like all other Renaissance palaces along the waterfront), by merging and fusing tower houses, symbols of the power of noble families of the Pisan Republic.

It consists of five floors plus an attic and has been divided into seven prestigious residential units, all served by elevators.

The ground floor includes:
- A large condominium entrance with access from the waterfront, featuring a vaulted and decorated ceiling;
- A mechanized garage for five cars;
- Two ancillary rooms with bathrooms, one with access also from the waterfront;
- An exclusive garage with access from Via delle Belle Torri.
