A 17th and 18th-century priory, with a swimming pool and expansive tree-filled grounds, 35 minutes from Bordeaux in the Entre-deux-Mers region. Built in the 17th and 18th centuries, the property extends over nearly 9,000 m², while the priory is located on the upper part of the grounds, overlooking an Italianate garden featuring rows of vegetation, a stone swimming pool, added in the 19th century, and a semi-covered outdoor reception area. The latter, built out of stone and topped with a barrel tile roof, includes a fireplace whereas, according to late 17th-century traditions, the L-shaped main building has been designed with an understated architectural style.

As for its lime-plastered ashlar and rubblestone exteriors, they have been elegantly weathered by time and are cadenced by low-arched or rounded windows and doors, typical of 18th-century modifications, which provide balance for the edifice’s overall composition, while its thin stone stringcourses horizontally highlight its exteriors, and the tall windows and doors on its southern side guarantee dazzling sunlight all day long, as well as provide enchanting views of the grounds and its different areas.

With the house’s main entrance to the south, which is preceded by an immense gravel courtyard in which a centenary lime tree stands, the former, painted green and safeguarded by an openwork, wrought-iron grill, blends in seamlessly with the façade’s overall composition, while a second entrance, to the west, opens directly on to a kitchen, the dwelling’s true heart and soul.
