County Home Project Between Alaró And Orient

Orient is one of the smallest and most secluded villages in Mallorca, sitting in a narrow valley in the Serra de Tramuntana at roughly 400 metres above sea level. Surrounded by almond groves, olive terraces, and the dramatic limestone peaks of the Tramuntana range, the hamlet has fewer than fifty permanent residents and retains an almost entirely unchanged agricultural character. The Serra de Tramuntana carries UNESCO World Heritage status as a cultural landscape, and Orient sits within its protected core.

The village has a handful of rural hotels and the well-regarded restaurant Es Verger, known for its lamb dishes, is a short drive up towards the Castell d’Alaró. The market town of Alaró is approximately 8 kilometres away and provides everyday shopping, a weekly market, and local services. Palma is around 30 kilometres to the south.

The drive to Palma via the Ma-2100 and Ma-13 takes approximately 35 to 40 minutes by car. Palma de Mallorca Airport is roughly 40 kilometres from Orient and reachable in under an hour, with direct connections to most major European cities and year-round scheduled services. There is no public transport serving Orient directly, so a car is essential for daily life.
