Nicoya Cattle Farm

The farm is situated in Barra Honda, 15 km away from the town of
Nicoya, the second largest city in the Guanacaste province in the North
Pacific Coast. The property is located at a 3-hours drive from the
capital of Costa Rica, San Jose and conveniently accessible from the
highway 18.
This property of flatland and hills is located 4 km from the Barra Honda
Caves National Park, located by the Guanacaste National Park which
was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999.
. Description:
The property has been acquired and developed originally since 2007 as a
free-range livestock farm of bulls.
With over US$300,000 invested to develop the land into a fully
functional farm, the farm spans across 304 Hectares / 3.04 km2 / 751
acres divided as follows:
• 120 hectares (c. 296 acres) of pastures cleaned for rotational
grazing
• 100 hectares (c. 247 acres) are dedicated to the FONAFIFO, the
National Forestry
Financing Fund, which contributes financial support for the
preservation of the forest
• 35 hectares (c. 62 acres) planted with teak in 2010 valued at
c. US$150,000
• 60 hectares (c. 150 acres) remain untouched
