FANARI or FAROS ARMENISTIS: «Fanari», Greek word, means «beacon» in English and this is the reason why the area is also known as «Faros Armenistis». The term «Faros» is translated into English as «lighthouse» and the word «Armenistis» denotes a «sailer». The region is stretched on a sun-drenched hill overlooking Tinos island, in the northwest side of Mykonos and its landmark is a lighthouse. It is literally nearby Mykonos Chora (the capital town of Mykonos island) since it takes some ten-minute drive to get down town. The district’s rolling topography projects a picturesque image of the Cycladic setting.
