Muro is a quiet inland municipality in the north of Mallorca, sitting between the Serra de Tramuntana foothills and the flat agricultural plain of Es Pla. It has the character of an authentic Mallorcan market town, with a historic centre built around the church of Sant Joan Baptista, honey-coloured stone architecture, and a pace of life that remains largely unchanged by mass tourism. The beaches of Platja de Muro, part of the protected S’Albufera natural park coastline, are a ten-minute drive north. Alcudia, with its full range of restaurants, supermarkets, and marina, is approximately 15 kilometres away.

Palma de Mallorca is roughly 50 kilometres south of Muro, reachable by car in under an hour via the Ma-13 motorway. Palma Son Sant Joan International Airport handles direct routes to most major European cities, with journey times from Muro of approximately 45 to 55 minutes by car. There is no direct rail connection, making a car essential for daily life in this part of the island.
