In Hainaut, Near Mons, A Characterful Country House, Its Gatehouse And Grounds Covering Some 23

In Hainaut, near Mons, a characterful country house, its gatehouse and grounds covering some 23 hectares. Some estates are recognised less by their main house than by their trees. Here, the oldest trees are over a century old, and it is at their own pace that the grounds, covering some 23 hectares, have taken shape, between the pond, the large lawns and the vistas that guide the walk. At the centre, the house holds its own without ostentation. A stately entrance hall, a large drawing room bathed in light, a small sitting room set aside for privacy and a dining room designed for grand receptions follow one another, whilst each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom. A caretaker’s lodge and a gatehouse complete a complex designed to stand the test of time, to which nearly 150 hectares of woodland and land may yet be added. Whether as a family home or a stately residence, the estate awaits someone who will be able to carry on its long-standing legacy.
