In the following centuries the castle saw the passage of other prominent figures in Italian history including Uguccione della Faggiola and Branca Brancaleoni, before ending up in the possessions of Cardinal Albornoz.

Surrounding the buildings are some 2,600 m² of paved gardens and patios, including a beautiful 8 × 4 m swimming pool with rounded edges, set in a very private and secluded corner of the property with a southeast orientation, surrounded by hedges and stone walls.
