Marratxí is a municipality of quiet residential character sitting between Palma and the Serra de Tramuntana foothills, occupying a position that has made it one of the most sought-after addresses for families and professionals relocating to Mallorca. Its several distinct nuclei, including Pòrtol, Sa Cabaneta, and Es Pont d’Inca, each carry their own identity, with Sa Cabaneta particularly known for its long tradition of ceramics and its compact, unhurried village character.

Sa Cabaneta has a small but well-regarded local market and several traditional cafés. Palma’s Mercat de l’Olivar and the restaurant scene along Passeig Mallorca are under 15 minutes by car. The commercial area around Es Pont d’Inca provides everyday retail, supermarkets, and schools without requiring a trip into the capital.

Palma city centre is approximately 12 kilometres from the heart of Marratxí, reachable in around 15 minutes by car via the Ma-13 or by commuter train from Es Pont d’Inca station, which runs regular services into Palma Intermodal in under 20 minutes. Palma de Mallorca Airport is roughly 10 kilometres away, typically a 15-minute drive, with direct connections to most major European cities year-round.
