Manacor is the second-largest city in Mallorca and the commercial and cultural capital of the island’s eastern interior. It sits roughly 50 kilometres east of Palma, surrounded by agricultural land, vineyards, and the limestone terrain that defines this part of the island. The area has a strong identity rooted in craft production, most notably its pearl industry, and a working Mallorcan character that distinguishes it from the resort-oriented coastal towns nearby.

Daily life in Manacor centres on the weekly market held every Monday, the covered Mercat de S’Antigor for fresh produce, and a solid range of local restaurants along Carrer Major. The coves of Porto Cristo and Cala Millor are within 15 minutes by car, and the Coves del Drach are a short drive east.

Palma is approximately 50 kilometres west via the Ma-15, a journey of around 45 to 50 minutes by car. Palma de Mallorca Airport, the island’s main international hub, handles direct routes to most major European cities and is reachable in under an hour. There is no rail connection to Manacor currently, making a car essential for day-to-day movement across the island.
