Bunyola is a small inland municipality in the Serra de Tramuntana, the mountain range that runs along Mallorca’s northwestern spine and holds UNESCO World Heritage status as a cultural landscape. The village sits at roughly 240 metres above sea level, surrounded by terraced olive groves, citrus orchards, and pine-covered hillsides. It has the character of an authentic Mallorcan settlement, largely untouched by the coastal tourism that defines much of the island, with stone architecture and a pace of life that attracts buyers seeking privacy over proximity to resort areas.

The village centre has a small weekly market, a handful of traditional cafés, and the Can Penasso restaurant. Palma is approximately 17 kilometres to the south, reachable in around 20 minutes by car, giving straightforward access to the city’s full range of dining, shopping, and cultural institutions. The historic Sóller railway passes through Bunyola, connecting it to both Palma and the port town of Sóller.

The historic wooden train from Bunyola to Palma runs several times daily, with the journey taking approximately 30 minutes. By car, Palma de Mallorca Airport is around 25 to 30 minutes away, depending on traffic. The airport operates year-round international routes to major European cities, with significantly expanded connections during the summer season. The nearby TF-10 road also provides direct access into the Serra de Tramuntana for those oriented toward the northwest coast.
